Ben Raglands Tiny House

At first when I made my sketch of my tiny house, I made it a single story house with a living, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom. I made the rooms really small but with enough room to still be able to live normally in. i made it just a regular rectangular houe. I had the living room connected with the kitchen for easy access.

After I revised my sketch, I took in to consideration to make the house two stories. In order to not take up space, I used a ladder instead of stairs to get to the second floor. i kept the living room and kitchen on the bottom floor and put the bedroom and bathroom on the top.
 

Tiny House Report

The Tiny House concept is based around using the least amount of square footage to live in as possible. As such, there is no need for the design to contain a “family” area like a living room, or a television area. My house design contains a kitchen, living area, and a bathroom. None of them take up that much space, the total square footage of the house being roughly 227 sq. ft.

The kitchen area contains a sink, range, a refrigerator, and a cabinet for food storage. The work triangle of the kitchen is small but is still contained within the same area, so that when you cook you do not have to move far for the different appliances. It is floored with carpet, as is the living area and entrance, as it is a part of the rest of the house and is cheaper to install than hardwood. The living area has enough room for a queen sized bed and a night stand for a lamp. There are also outlets next to the nightstand for phone or laptop charging cords if they are needed – or for an alarm clock and a lamp. The bathroom is small, but has all of the necessary features – a toilet, a sink, and a tub / shower. The floor in the bathroom would be vinyl or tile for obvious reasons.

Tiny house Report

    The home was designed to be compact, efficient (as far as the layout), and have a small footprint.
To reduce the size of the home, hallways have been removed, and doorways have been converted into wall spaces (to create, uh, flow). The rest of the house is designed simply to use as much space as possible while having as little of a footprint as possible.

  In essence, it is a no-frills, compact home designed to fit into small lots.
