The
Tiny House concept is based around using the least amount of square footage to
live in as possible. As such, there is no need for the design to contain a “family”
area like a living room, or a television area. My house design contains a
kitchen, living area, and a bathroom. None of them take up that much space, the
total square footage of the house being roughly 227 sq. ft.
The
kitchen area contains a sink, range, a refrigerator, and a cabinet for food
storage. The work triangle of the kitchen is small but is still contained
within the same area, so that when you cook you do not have to move far for the
different appliances. It is floored with carpet, as is the living area and
entrance, as it is a part of the rest of the house and is cheaper to install
than hardwood. The living area has enough room for a queen sized bed and a
night stand for a lamp. There are also outlets next to the nightstand for phone
or laptop charging cords if they are needed – or for an alarm clock and a lamp.
The bathroom is small, but has all of the necessary features – a toilet, a
sink, and a tub / shower. The floor in the bathroom would be vinyl or tile for
obvious reasons.
